Economy of Line

Tools:  Adobe Illustrator, Rhinoceros 3D Modeling

As you explore techniques in visualization, certain economies must always be taken into account.  Sometimes you don’t need the entire image, sometimes you just need to see the edges, or the light, or the material.  While a picture is worth a thousand words, sometimes you need to only say ten.  With that in mind we extract a drawing from an image.

For this journal you will take a photograph and place it into the model space of Rhino.  Using the curve and point drawing tools you will build line work.  Once the line drawing has been assembled you will import it into Adobe Illustrator and adjust the line weights and colors to finish the rendering.
